Conversations with Dr. Aristotle Economou: Interview with Voyage LA

Voyage LA Magazine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Aristotle Economou (Interview Voyage LA Dr Aristotle)

Hi Dr. Aristotle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

Absolutely. My path in healthcare began long before a personal health crisis. I had already been in practice for 15 years when my life took an unexpected turn—I became paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair due to an autoimmune condition. It was a moment that changed everything in my life.

Despite my years of experience in healthcare, I suddenly found myself on the other side, facing an uncertain future and dependent on 24/7 care. Conventional medicine offered some support. I realized to walk again, I had to take matters into my own hands. I turned to the very principles I had studied—integrating Eastern medicine, structural healing, targeted nutrition, and energetic systems—to rebuild my health.

Over time, I didn’t just recover; I gained a deeper understanding of what it truly takes to heal. This experience reshaped my practice. I now work with individuals who have been searching for answers—those who have tried everything but still haven’t found the breakthrough they need. My approach combines chemistry, structural alignment, targeted nutrition, and energy systems to address health on multiple levels, helping my patients regain control of their well-being.

I know firsthand that a diagnosis is not a destiny. It’s simply a starting point. My goal is to help others unlock their body’s potential to heal and thrive, just as I did.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

It hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has reinforced my commitment to this work.

One of the biggest obstacles was realizing that the conventional medical system wasn’t equipped to provide real solutions for complex, long-standing health issues—something I experienced firsthand when I became paralyzed. I saw how easy it was to be dismissed, given generic treatments, and left without a clear path forward.

That experience reshaped my approach, pushing me to look beyond traditional models and create a system that actually helps the body recover.

In practice, I work with patients who have been through countless treatments, yet they’re still searching for real progress. These are highly intelligent, accomplished individuals who aren’t willing to settle for surface-level solutions. They come to me because they’re ready for a different level of care—one that integrates structure, targeted nutrition, and energy systems to address the underlying causes of their health challenges. Helping them get results is a process, and one I’ve refined over years of experience.

Educating people on a more comprehensive way to heal requires shifting perspectives, but once they see the results, the hesitation disappears. When you’re committed to real change, you don’t look for the easy path—you focus on what works.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

My work is focused on helping individuals who have been struggling with health challenges for months or even years—especially those who have tried conventional and alternative approaches but still haven’t found the breakthrough they need. These are high-performing professionals, celebrities, and individuals who don’t have time to waste on trial-and-error treatments. They need answers, and they need a process that works.

What sets my approach apart is that I don’t just look at symptoms—I look at how the body’s chemistry, structural alignment, and energy systems interact. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s about uncovering hidden imbalances that are keeping the body stuck in dysfunction and addressing them through a highly personalized strategy. I use advanced diagnostic tools, including Meridian Imaging, to identify these imbalances and then create a targeted plan that integrates structural work, targeted nutrition, and energetic systems to support deep, lasting recovery.

I’m most proud of the work I do with individuals who have been told they just have to “live with” their condition. Many of my patients arrive frustrated, exhausted, and skeptical—understandably so. But once they experience the right approach—one that actually addresses the underlying issues—they start seeing results they never thought possible.

What sets me apart is that my expertise isn’t just theoretical; it’s personal. Midway through my career, I faced my own health crisis when an autoimmune condition left me paralyzed. Told I may never walk again, I had to rebuild my health from the ground up, and in doing so, I gained a deeper understanding of what it truly takes to heal. I know what it’s like to be in that position, and I know that healing is possible—even when it seems out of reach.

My practice is built on real-world results, not theories or trends. I don’t promise quick fixes. I provide a clear, strategic pathway to better health. The people who come to me don’t just want to “feel better”—they want to regain control of their health, their performance, and their future. That’s exactly what I help them do.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?

I believe that staying at the forefront of health and healing requires an ongoing commitment to learning. That’s why I consistently review both Western and Eastern medical research—not just to stay informed but to refine and evolve my approach. I don’t limit myself to one school of thought because real healing happens when you bridge the best of both worlds.

With over three decades in practice, I’ve had the opportunity to see what truly works in long-term healing. One of the most transformative experiences in my career was visiting hospitals throughout the People’s Republic of China and South Korea, where I observed how they integrate Eastern and Western medicine in patient care.

It was remarkable to see how hospitals seamlessly combined Eastern medicine, herbal medicine, and energy-based therapies with advanced diagnostics and conventional medical treatments.

This blend of traditional wisdom and modern science reinforced what I had already come to understand in my own practice—true healing requires addressing the body as a complete system, not just a set of symptoms.

I also wrote a book, Change The Way You Heal; 7 Steps To Highly Effective Healing, where I share my journey, insights into recovery, and the strategies I use in my practice. It serves as both an educational resource and an inspiration for those who feel like they’ve run out of options.

Beyond research and writing, I seek out any resource that also challenges conventional thinking. I listen to podcasts, read books, and engage with content that offers a different perspective or an updated approach—whether that’s in medicine, performance optimization, longevity or even philosophy. The key isn’t just collecting information; it’s about integrating what actually works into my practice to better serve my patients.

Ultimately, my greatest resource is experience—both my own and that of the individuals I work with. The best insights don’t always come from textbooks; they come from seeing what truly moves the needle in real-world healing.
