Qi gong
Qi gong
A technique to enhance the healing response through nervous system communication from brain to areas of injury is known as Qi Gong (pronounced chee-gong). This form of low frequency sound therapy therapy generates sound waves in the range of 8-14 Hz.
The type of acoustical therapy we are accustomed to in this country is “ultrasound”- ultrasonic waves, or sound waves beyond the range of the human ear. These sound waves are produced at the rate of 20,000 Hz, or 20,000 sound waves per second. Q i Gong is not ultrasound as it does not produce heat in the tissue. The sound produced is at the other end of the acoustical spectrum- the low frequency sound range.
